Ignite Energy is a new energy drink in the South African market, launching between December 2018 and January 2019. The client wanted an overall brand design, which included a design for the can. My brief was to create something that was simple yet stylish. The primary mandate was to ensure that the can design was less busy than its (then) competitors. I used 45-degree lines to express movement and bright colours (juxtaposed with an otherwise dark can-design) to suggest energy and power. The use of negative space was a powerful gesture.
